1. Agreement
1.1 These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Jimmy (“we”, “us”) governing your download, installation and use of Pi Remote (the “app”) and the optional server-side agent (the “agent”).
1.2 By downloading, installing or using the app, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the app and uninstall it.
1.3 If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms. If you obtained it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. If these Terms conflict with a platform’s mandatory terms, the platform’s terms prevail to the extent of the conflict.
1.4 If you use the app for an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to do so, and these Terms bind the organisation as well as you.
2. Definitions
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| The app | The Pi Remote client software and its updates |
| Agent | The optional software you install on your server to run tasks and manage Pi |
| Pi | The third-party coding agent you install on your own server |
| Your server | A Linux host that you own or are authorised to use and that you can reach over SSH |
| Model provider | The AI model service you choose and contract with directly |
| Your content | The prompts, code, files and commands you provide, and the output and differences produced from them |
3. The service
3.1 The app is a tool, not a hosted service. We provide the mobile client and an optional server-side agent. We do not provide servers, compute, storage or network access; model accounts, API keys or model quotas; code hosting, backup or cloud sync; or remote operations on your behalf.
3.2 No account system. You do not register with us. Your ability to use the app depends on having a server you can access and valid credentials with a model provider.
3.3 Fees. Pi Remote is currently free. If we introduce a paid version or subscription, the price and terms will be shown on the store listing before you buy. Whether or not the app is paid, you are responsible for model provider charges, server and bandwidth costs, and network traffic charges. We are not responsible for those third-party costs and cannot refund them.
3.4 Early version. The app is at an early stage. Features may be incomplete, unstable or changed without notice. Do not rely on it as your only means of production operations.
4. Licence
4.1 Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your personal development work or the internal development work of your organisation.
4.2 You must not copy, sell, rent, resell or distribute the app, or offer it to third parties as a hosted service; reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, or attempt to extract its source code, except where the law expressly permits it or we give written permission; remove, obscure or alter copyright, trademark or other rights notices; use the app to build a product that materially competes with it; or bypass technical restrictions or licence checks.
4.3 Open-source components included in the app are licensed under their own licences. These Terms do not limit your rights under those licences.
5. Your responsibilities
You represent and warrant that:
5.1 You are authorised to access your server. You own it or have explicit permission from its owner or administrator. You must not use the app to access a system you are not authorised to access.
5.2 You follow server and network rules. This includes your hosting provider’s acceptable-use policy, your organisation’s security rules, and the access controls of the target server.
5.3 Your content is lawful. The content you enter, process, generate or submit does not infringe any person’s intellectual property, trade secrets, privacy or other rights, and does not violate the law.
5.4 You protect your credentials. You are responsible for keeping your passwords, keys, access tokens and model API keys secure, and for rotating and revoking them. You bear the loss caused by a leaked credential.
5.5 You keep backups. You should keep independent backups of your code and important data. The app’s baseline and revert features are conveniences, not a backup solution.
5.6 You follow third-party terms. When you use a model provider, Pi, a Git host or another third-party service, you must comply with that service’s terms and policies. You are responsible for the consequences of any breach.
5.7 You assess your own compliance. If your code or data is subject to sector regulation, you must ensure that sending it to a model provider is lawful.
6. Permission levels and risks
6.1 The app lets you choose how much Pi may do in a task: read files and run read-only commands; read and write files; or read, write and execute commands. These limits are enforced by Pi’s tools, not by the operating system.
6.2 There is no sandbox. Pi runs with the identity of the server user that started it and can reach anything that user can reach. We do not claim isolation in the interface. Use the execute permission only in an environment where you accept that risk.
6.3 AI output can be wrong. A model may generate incorrect, incomplete, outdated, unsafe or infringing code and commands. It may misunderstand your intent and take destructive actions. Baselines and revert do not cover every case, including non-Git directories, submodules, untracked files, external side effects, already-pushed commits, database changes or deployment actions.
6.4 You must review changes. Before you commit, push, deploy or rely on AI-generated content, review the changes and verify them yourself. You bear the loss caused by a failure to review.
6.5 AI output is not professional advice. The app does not provide legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use the app to:
- access, probe, scan or control a system without authorisation;
- create or distribute malware, ransomware or attack tools;
- infringe privacy, steal data or bypass access controls;
- violate export-control, sanctions or other applicable law;
- infringe intellectual property or distribute unlawful content;
- interfere with the app or another service, including through automated abuse or denial-of-service attacks;
- bypass a model provider’s safety restrictions or usage policies;
- process another person’s code or data at scale without their knowledge.
We may terminate your licence if we reasonably believe you have violated these rules.
8. Intellectual property
8.1 The app, its interface, graphics, trademarks and documentation are owned by Jimmy or its licensors. You receive no rights other than the licence expressly granted in these Terms.
8.2 Your content remains yours. We do not claim any rights in your code, prompts or output. Because we do not receive your content, you do not grant us a licence to use it.
8.3 Rights in output generated through the app depend on the law of your jurisdiction and the terms of the model provider you choose. We make no representation about whether output is protected by copyright.
8.4 The “Pi Remote” name and marks may not be used to suggest endorsement or affiliation without our written permission.
9. Third-party services
9.1 The app depends on third-party services and open-source components. We do not control their availability, pricing or policies, and we are not liable for limitations caused by their changes.
9.2 Installation instructions shown in the app may fetch content from third-party sites. Confirm that a source is trustworthy before running it.
9.3 The app contains no advertising, behavioural-analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
10. Open-source software
The app includes open-source components governed by their own licences. Those licences prevail over these Terms to the extent of any conflict. A list of components and licences is available in the app or with its distribution.
11. Updates and changes
11.1 We may publish updates to fix defects, change features or support new system versions. Some updates may be required to keep using the app.
11.2 We may change these Terms. The new version will be published at https://legal.orga.day/pi-remote/terms/ with a new date. We will highlight material changes in the app or on this site. Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect means you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app.
11.3 We may stop supporting or distributing the app with 30 days’ notice. An installed version may continue to work as it is, but we will no longer provide updates or support.
12. Availability and support
12.1 The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any service-level commitment, availability guarantee, or promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
12.2 Support is available at a2libra@outlook.com. We do not promise a response time, but we will help within reason.
12.3 Failures caused by your device, operating system, network, server configuration, Pi version or model provider are outside our support scope.
13. Termination
13.1 You may stop using the app and uninstall it at any time. These Terms then end.
13.2 If you materially breach these Terms, we may terminate your licence after notice. You must then stop using the app and delete it.
13.3 Termination does not affect rights and obligations that arose before it, or terms that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and dispute resolution.
14. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
14.1 The app comes with no express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, freedom from viruses, or uninterrupted operation.
14.2 We do not warrant that AI output is correct, complete, safe or suitable for your needs, or that it is free of third-party rights claims.
14.3 We do not warrant that your server, network or model provider will remain available, and we are not responsible for their data loss, disclosure or downtime.
14.4 You understand that executing code remotely and automating file changes carry risk, and you decide whether to use those features.
14.5 Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights.
15. Limitation of liability
15.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of goodwill, data loss, business interruption, server costs, model charges or the cost of substitute services.
15.2 Our total aggregate liability arising from these Terms is limited to the amount you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. If the app is provided free of charge, the limit is zero.
15.3 This limit applies cumulatively across multiple claims and causes of action, and survives even if a remedy fails its essential purpose.
15.4 This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Indemnity
You agree to defend us and hold us harmless from any third-party claim, suit or demand (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the app, your content, your breach of these Terms or applicable law, your unauthorised access to another system, or your breach of a model provider’s, hosting provider’s or Git platform’s terms.
We will give you reasonable notice of a claim and allow you to lead the defence. We may participate at our own expense.
17. Export control and sanctions
You represent that you are not located in a comprehensively sanctioned country or region and are not on a restricted-party list. You must not use the app for any purpose prohibited by applicable export-control or sanctions law.
18. Governing law and disputes
18.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
18.2 The parties will first try to resolve a dispute in good faith. If that fails, either party may bring the dispute before the people’s court with jurisdiction at the operator’s domicile.
18.3 If you are a consumer, this section does not affect your right to bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence under mandatory consumer-protection law.
19. General
19.1 Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the app and replace any earlier oral or written communication.
19.2 Severability. If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions stay in effect.
19.3 No waiver. A failure or delay in exercising a right is not a waiver of that right.
19.4 Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in a merger, acquisition or transfer of assets.
19.5 Notices. We may notify you through the app, this site or the email address you provide. You may notify us at a2libra@outlook.com.
19.6 Language. These Terms are published in English and Simplified Chinese. Both versions are intended to have the same meaning. If they conflict, the English version prevails, except where applicable consumer law requires the Chinese version to prevail.
19.7 Headings. Section headings are for reading convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
